We are all about helping amazing kids reach their potential through the resilience and confidence performing arts education can bring out in dancers! But we know as a parent or even as a potential student; finding a good “fit ” is important because we want you to feel amazing about your decision to join us and find a real home in our studio family.

Our foundation is based in Growth oriented language and instruction designed to help young dancers overcome their fears while learning all of the amazing skills dance delivers!
Because our goal is not just to teach dance as a skill, but as a benefit of physical activity. We look past that to helping to create the valedictorians, the future professionals, the 1% that will achieve and succeed not because they just learned to dance & perform, but that they learned to take fear and overcome it by learning to dance with it. To “take the stage” quite literally and turn it into the power to move forward.

In our personal struggle...
We found dance to be an amazing benefit for kids beyond the steps!
The amazing thing is that through the inclusion of our son in the programs we developed since age 3 he started to grasp rhythm, timing, spatial awareness, musicality, verbal communication as well as the physicality of tone, balance and strength. Now years later Mr. Derek has become a huge success on his own, attending college, working in long term care, exploring a music career, sound engineering and yes he teaches Hip Hop to youth…and he’s great! He’s not alone, we’ve had thousands of amazing kids through our doors that have gone on to be successful in life with dance being at least a small contribution for some but a huge influence for many! Move With Grace was founded when we discovered that Our middle child was born with exceptionalities & a nearly tragic birth. We discovered that our child may not be able to walk, talk or function “normally” and quite frankly we were terrified. Robyn started the studio thinking that our son may not be able to attend any “normal” activities… Normal was starting to become a swear word at our house.

Move With Grace was formed because...
we wanted any child to feel successful in our environment doing dance or any activity
The studio was designed around child development and positive teaching practices with the aim of helping any child at any age discover their potential and overcome their fears.
We made sure that the faculty would always actually like children as well as being strong teaching specialists and dance experts. The big thing we avoided was the ego that so many of the dance world’s elite put before the students’ needs. It is why it is Move With Grace…not “Move With Robyn.”

What makes your dance classes special vs other choices I have?
First off, there are many amazing choices of dance studios and dance instructors out there. We are fortunate in Cambridge to have so much talent and the benefit is to make a stronger market for the consumer…you!
What makes Move With Grace special is a combination of highly certified adult dance educators that specialize in “growth oriented” language and correction.
A highly positive motivational atmosphere that promotes success and fosters a love of dance. Imagine your child experiencing the pride and joy of being successful in a rewarding dance class with us!
Our director Miss Robyn studied dance and children’s developmental stages in University so our programming is chalked full of stuff that helps kids feel successful.

What guarantee do you offer?
We guarantee that in the first four weeks we will find the right class for your dancer. If we can’t, you will only be responsible for the first month of classes.
What happens if my dancer loses interest in classes mid year?
Nobody wants to be forced…and children sometimes want to do something else other than dance class…this happens. We do use some amazing engagement tools to get kids involved in the class, and sometimes we need to be “in the pool to learn how to swim.” This is where communications and a team approach to student success is important. Some strategies to be “mentally ready” for class are to establish a ready to learn protocol.
Before entering the studio for dance, we can prepare our dancer by making sure bathroom requirements are met before class. Use of electronic entertainment is often hard for a child to suddenly discontinue if they are engaged in a paw patrol game etc. Older dancers who are self directing are asked not to have their phones out in the classroom.
We want to be ready to see our friends and focus, so snacks being all done, uniform on and ready to line up are all good life skills to be exercised so we are ready! Good parenting and happy ready kids all rolled into one, you guys are awesome!
Now for some younger students, occasionally coming directly from daycare or JK can mean we are tired. A shift in class schedule often corrects this problem, as we have several schedule solutions. In most cases climatization to the classroom happens naturally and sometimes it is an age related phase if there is resistance. At the end of the day, talk to us if there seems to be a problem, we’ve been doing this successfully for many years and have taught over 6000 kids in our Cambridge dance studio.
What is the cost structure of your programs?
We know! It’s a lot of information ? All of our pricing is available in the secure “Parent portal” section of our site. Our pricing structure is based on total classes weekly within a family. The pricing represented in the secure section of our site is a monthly amount plus applicable taxes.
